Fun Valentine's Day Pre K Activities
Making Valentines
One of the most fun and popular Valentine's Day activities for pre K students is making Valentines. Give students construction paper, markers, crayons, glitter, stickers, and other craft supplies to create their own personalized Valentines for their friends, family, and classmates. If you have time, you can also have them write a short message of love on each card.
Creating Valentine-Themed Artwork
Pre K classes can also have a blast creating Valentine-themed artwork. Have students draw pictures of Valentines or Cupids with red, pink, and white crayons or markers. Or, have them create collages with hearts, flowers, and other paper shapes. You can also have them create 3D art with modeling clay or pipe cleaners.
Playing Games
If you want to keep students active and engaged, there are several Valentine's Day-themed games that you can play with your pre K students. For example, you can play the classic game of Cupid's Arrow by having students throw a hula hoop onto a target. You can also make up a Valentine's Day version of Simon Says, or have students play a game of Valentine's Day Bingo.
Hosting a Valentine's Day Party
Hosting a Valentine's Day party is also a great way to keep pre K students entertained. Have students dress up in pink and red, and then serve them Valentine's Day-themed snacks, like heart-shaped cookies and cupcakes. You can also have them participate in Valentine's Day-themed activities, like making Valentines and decorating their own paper crowns.
Watching Movies
If your pre K class needs a break from making crafts or playing games, why not have them watch a Valentine's Day-themed movie? There are several movies designed specifically for young children that feature stories about love and friendship, such as "The Little Mermaid," "Hercules," and "Toy Story." Watching these movies together can be a great way to teach your students about the importance of love and friendship.
