I think that it is important to show love and appreciation to those we care about all year round, not just on Valentine's Day. I like to show my appreciation with small gestures such as making a special dinner or sending a thoughtful card or email. I think these gestures are much more meaningful than buying a gift that was specifically marketed for this holiday.

I'm also learning to love myself, flaws and all. I'm learning to appreciate my quirks and my unique personality. I'm learning to accept myself as I am and understand that I don't need to change in order to be loved. I'm learning to be comfortable in my own skin, and that's something that I wouldn't trade for anything in the world.
